Arbonne lip polish review

I've never been fond of lip gloss, I always find it so sticky. However, recently I was asked to try out a few arbonne products, their lip polish's being one! After trying them I've used them every day since, usually on top of lipstick. Lip gloss is always an easier option for during the day as when you need to too up you barely have to look and be neat, unlike lipstick which is guaranteed to be around my face without a mirror 😓 I love the texture of this as it's quite thick so it lasts, but not too thick so it feels too sticky. After taking off the polish I found my lips were still soft like it had moisturised them. 

First I tried the shade nude, this is a very pale skin colour with a slight shimmer, I love it with a smokey eye or just for day.

Posh, this is a pink shimmery shade which I love! I'm not a lover of pink but this shade was definitely my favourite.

Brown sugar, again this is perfect for a day look, and would look amazing with a brown smokey eye and lots of contour.

Coral, everyone loves and needs a coral lipstick/lipgloss and I would definitely reccomend this is the one you have as it's very vibrant and stands our for a lip gloss!

Pearl, this is very similar to nude but with lots more shimmer and glitter.

Raisin, this is a deep purple colour however it doesn't show up too much it's just a slight tint so this would be better on top of a dark lipstick. I loved this for during the day as it wasn't too light and wasn't too dark, just perfect for the outfit I was wearing.

After trying all the polishes, I thought I would have a play with putting colours together to create ombré and just different colours in general. 

This is raisin, on top of mac dark side then with pearl in the centre to make it lighter.

Ombré lip

This is great advise for anyone with tiny lips that want to make them look fuller without injections or lip plump(which barely works most of the time!) these are my lips before I start..

My top lip is tiny so I need all the help I can get. You can do ombré lips with more aless any colours as long as they're slightly different to get the effect. 

To start I line my lips with any lip liner and colour in the outer corners of my lips then after getting this right I apply a pale lipstick in the middle of my lips 

After applying the lipstick I get a lipstick brush and blend them together creating the ombré look finishing like this 

I've tried this with different colours and it makes my lip look fuller and bigger so I love it! 

These are a few samples using different colours. For the liner to blend it's best to use a creamy liner rather than a pencil as they blend easier. 

Super easy and cheap way to have luscious lips 👄

Special effects makeup

When I first started with makeup I didn't think about sfx or any other types of makeup, I focused on looking pretty and mastering the perfect day and night looks. Until recently I was inspired by @powdah (amazing sfx artist!!) to play around with special effects materials such as wax, liquid latex, fake blood etc and I love it! I haven't quite mastered it but I'm loving playing around and learning how to create open wounds, scars and small cuts. I have tried a few times and here are the results.. I hope one day I can be half as good as Marc Clancy! I've used ben nye face and nose wax, blood gel, snazaroo deep red face paint and purple eye shadow to create bruising. 

These are my most recent attempts. Before buying the materials I played around with things I had at home, such as tissue and pva glue.. These being the outcome

Halloween

It's so close to my favourite time of the year, halloween!🎃 I've already started to have a play around with different looks, and looks clients have requested. Using facepaint, sfx and makeup I've created lots of different looks, I've picked out a few of my favourites and they are my scary toned down clown, my creepy Aztec and my half skull half pretty makeup. 

The clown: I used Revlon photo ready foundation as a base. For the eyes I used makeup revolution dark blue eye shadow to create an off looking smokey eye building the colour up to the brow, after doing this I applied a small line of liquid liner under my eyes then allowed to dry. For my brows I used mac dip down. On my lips I used Max's Russian red for the main colour then created depth with Mac's diva then applied a small circle on my nose as a clowns nose. To get the effect of crying and messed mascara and eye shadow I simple drenched my brush in water and pressed under my eyes and let it drip down my face until I was satisfied with the look.. To finish this I drew black lines down my eyes with snazaroo face paint then splattered gory snazaroo blood down my chin and onto my chest. 

Spooky Aztec: for this I used snazaroo face paint in black and white and drew and dotted across my face, I really love the finishing look with this as it's different to the typical halloween look. 

Half skull: Again for the half skull I used snazaroo face paint in black and white and built up the colour, on the opposite side I stuck to my day makeup (check my blog you'll see my day look) then applied ardell Demi wispie lashes to finish it off with mac Russian red lipstick.

Arbonne review

Recently I was asked if I would try out a selection of arbonne products, this included skin care and makeup. I used the calm cleanser and moisturiser twice a day for 4 days, before trying this I had a few pimples that wouldn't go away for weeks 😞 however, even after the first day my skin was feeling soft and felt so fresh. Onto the makeup, I tried the perfecting liquid foundation, usually I use mac studio fix and need two/three pumps to achieve a full cover, with this foundation I found just one pump was enough, although it's not a thick foundation the coverage is amazing! Under the foundation I used a primer which held my makeup for around 6 hours, I did have to apply the mineralise powder on top of my foundation after this time to top it up and keeping it look fresh. I also used the bronzing powder to contour my face lightly as I'm just obsessed with contouring and this powder doesn't have a red tone to it so it was brilliant for this. It's a long story mascara is pure magical, I have the shortest eye lashes and nothing but falsies help me but when I used this (3 coates) I found my lashes, for the first time in ages I could see I had mascara on and it was filling out my lashes and making them appear longer. I didn't get around to using all the lip polish's but I did fall in love with shade pearl, neural looking and has a pretty shimmer and made my lips feel super soft! Animal mouth

I spent ages wondering what face paint I could do without doing my whole face. When I finally decided to try it out on my lips I started with the frog using snazaroo face painting kit. I loved it! That much I washed it off and tried more. This is an amazing idea if you're going to a party but you don't want to go all out on face paint instead just do lip art 👄

Amrezy pallet

I've had my Amrezy pallet a few months now and fall more in love every day! Definitely my best purchase from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I've created a few looks with this pallet as it has a colour for day and night. The pigmentation is amazing, goes on like a dream! I love the brush but it doesn't blend too well so I apply with the brush that comes in the pallet then I use my mac blending brush to blend blend blend. 

On this look I applied vanilla all over the lid to make the area brighter, then into the inner and outer corners I applied caramel and blended, leaving the middle area still bright, after doing this I built up colour by using caramel, morocco and deep plum and blended them into my crease until blended well.. On the bottom lashes I applied vanilla and blended morocco into the inner and outer corners still leaving the middle bright without a lot of colour. After applying the shadow I used arbonne mascara topped with Ka-Ching Katie perry colour pop lashes. I always have to cut down the width of my lashes as my eyes are very narrow so the lashes poke me in the eyes and get very uncomfortable.
